Do YOU want to play piano?
YOU can learn quickly if you dedicate 15 to 30 minutes each day to PRACTICE! PRACTICE for a longer time and you will improve faster and learn to play very well in a shorter time!
REMEMBER WHEN YOU LEARNED TO READ?
You first learned the alphabet, then how you formed words using certain letters.
You learned that there are certain sounds that each letter makes, or groups of letters make! Sounds helped you pronounce the words!
Learning to play piano and learning to read words are very similar!
Only in Music, just the first seven letters of the alphabet are used: A, B, C, D, E, F, G. Then we start over with A for several octaves or A – G groupings.
here are several sets of A through G, but we only concentrate on a few letters, sounds, and keys at a time.
It might be a bit confusing at first, but stick with it; you will be playing piano in a short time. It may seem like a long time to you; remember how long it took for you to be a really good reader?
Learning to play piano has a few more components; each note on the piano is associated with an individual line or space on the Grand Staff.
NEXT LESSON: BLACK KEY GROUPS HELP FIND C AND F. THESE TWO NOTES ARE CALLED LANDMARK NOTES. FROM THESE NOTES, YOU EASILY FIND ALL OTHER NOTES:
1) BLACK NOTES ARE FOUND IN GROUPS OF TWO AND THREE.
2) C IS THE WHITE NOTE TO THE LEFT OF EACH TWO BLACK KEYS.
3) THREE BLACK NOTE GROUPS FOLLOW TWO BLACK NOTE GROUPS.
4) EACH TIME YOU SEE THREE BLACK NOTE, THE WHITE NOTE TO THE LEFT IS F.
5) START AT THE BOTTOM OR LEFT OF THE KEYBOARD; PLAY ALL C NOTES, THEN ALL F NOTES.
IF YOUR KEYBOARD HAS EIGHT GROUPS OF A – G, YOU ARE PLAYING A FULL SIZED 88 KEYS KEYBOARD.
IF YOU MUST LEARN PIANO ON A KEYBOARD, ONE WITH 88 KEYS IS BEST. MOST PIANO TEACHERS USE A PIANO THAT HAS 88 KEYS.
