Oh my! They are so-o-o-o confusing!
Three words that sound the same, only have different spellings AND meanings!
THERE The ball is over THERE!
THEIR It is THEIR ball. It belongs to them, whoever they are.
THEY”RE THEY”RE going to get another ball! THEY’RE is a CONTRACTION for THEY ARE.
“CONTRACTION? What is that?”
When two words are joined together with an apostrophe (‘).
Examples: THEY’RE for they are
WE’RE for we are
YOU’RE for you are
YOUR – Is this your ball? Yes, it belongs to me. It is mine, it is my ball.
